So tell me, hows everything in your world today? Good i assume? Mediocre at worst? I hope its going well, cos it's chuffin crap at my end.
The job, THE job turned out to be pants. After little over two sleeps and a 12 or so cars i had had enough. So i upped my tools, some of which have never seen the oily bits of anything and went home. Never to return. Whay can't people advertise a job properly? It's not hard. Example? Well, this how my job should have been advertised......
Wanted:
Grub monkey to take apart some of the cars we can't be arsed to. Must have own tools ( we're cheapskates ). Not too bothered about knowledge. Will have to work with a bunch of inbred gimps. Allotted time to strip each car will be stupidly short.
£7 p/h but that'll change the second you walk through the door.
N.B And we'll all act pally when your girlfriend comes to pick you up, even though we won't give you the time of day under normal circumstances.
Now, if it had read like that.....like it really was.....i wouldn't have sodding bothered. And as you can tell, this annoys me somewhat. Because not only am i back here, going square eyed looking at job websites, i'm also unable to look anyone in the eyes who knew about the job. Now why should that be? Thats not right, surely? I mean, if i had been fired it would be expected of me to be a bit sheepish, a bit embarrassed. But not when i have to leave because i dislike it. I hate being unemployed, but at the same time i'm not going to do something i don't enjoy.
I think it's going to be okay though. I mentioned a good advert is important, remember ( come on, its 3inches above this bit ) Well, i found THAT advert, the day after i left UKCarshoddy........
I was about to cut and paste it, but the website has decided to f**k up. Joy.
Anywho, this job sounds great. Descriptive advert, stating that they want someone passionate about cars, someone who is willing to learn all about the Audi range from 1980 to present, someone who knows there stuff, someone who isn't afraid to get thier hands dirty but who is also good with customers. That person, folks.......is me. I will get it, and all will be well in my world, and i wont be spun into a sprial of self pity because of a job.......
